Dr Donna Lee Marçal (Dinnes)
Donna, originally from Canada, is a specialist in human Biochemistry from The University of Ottawa. Dr Donna Marçal is specialised in inflammation and how the body reacts to foreign materials.
Her work has been published in numerous highly respected biomedical industry journals around the world. She has been awarded several international research fellowships for her work including The CIHR Strategic Training Fellowship in Cell Signaling in Mucosal Inflammation and Pain from the Canadian Government, an Endeavour Research Fellowship from the Australian government, which facilitated her to continue the award-winning research program here in Australia. During her research fellowships in Sydney, she investigated the human biochemistry pathways involved in inflammation and biomaterial responses using advanced proteomics techniques in collaboration with the Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Facility at The University of NSW (UNSW).
Upon completion of her PhD and beginning her research in Australia, she was also awarded an NSERC Research Fellowship to commence her postdoctoral research in the area of macrophages and atherosclerosis. She continued her work in inflammation, cholesterol transport and cell signalling in macrophages before launching and becoming the driving force behind Dermatonics®.

Dr Helder Marçal
Helder is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering who specialises in Regenerative Medicine and Tissue engineering applications of the skin and nervous tissue using adult stem cell therapies.
His discoveries in the field have contributed to the areas of nerve repair, skin rejuvenation, regeneration and advanced the understanding of the mechanisms involved. His work has revealed what skin and its surrounding tissues require to repair and regenerate with minimal scar formation. His knowledge and expertise are behind the trade secrets of the advanced skin delivery technology in Dermatonics®.
He has worked with Government Military projects, NASA, and World leaders in the field of human ageing, regenerative medicine and understanding the mechanisms of how our body and its key pathways can be influenced towards rejuvenation to extend both the lifespan of healthy cells and the longevity of humans as a whole.
